The late Princess Diana is immortalized in a new wax figure that remembers her iconic revenge dress. The statue unveiled at the Gravon Museum in Paris on November 20th is a replica of the late Princess of Wales’s infamous black dress that she wore in 1994. On the same night that the then Prince Charles confessed in a TV interview that he had been unfaithful in their marriage. The wax statue brings back to life the now infamous look, the black off-the-shoulder dress with a chiffon train and multistrand sapphire and pearl choker. The look made headlines the next day, overshadowing Charles’s interview and putting all the attention on Diana and her symbolic dress. The timing of the replica’s unveiling also isn’t a coincidence. The Gravon Museum revealing in a statement that November 20th marks the 30th anniversary of when Princess Diana’s infamous Panorama interview aired. In it, Diana, who died in a 1997 car crash in Paris, was candid about her marital struggles, opening up about the difficulties of royal life to Martin Basher of the BBC. The new wax figure will be located alongside an exhibit dedicated to fashion. And the museum says much work went into every detail of the statue to quote reproduce her outfit identically and to capture her unique expression as closely as possible. [Music]
