Kim Kardashian is adding a very special permanent addition to her home as it undergoes extensive renovations.
In a Nov. 20 episode of The Kardashians, the All’s Fair actress, 45, gives a look at the extensive renovations happening at her Hidden Hills mansion with her 7-year-old daughter Chicago in tow. After the mother-daughter duo arrive at the construction are, a bare bones structure and yellow caution tape can be seen in the background.
“Now that All’s Fair has wrapped, there’s like this pocket of time that I have right before I get into heavy studying,” Kim says in a confessional-style clip. “I have Easter, I have Paris coming up, I still have the Met [Gala]. I’m still renovating my house, so there’s so much going on.”
The scene cuts back to Kim and Chicago and the KUWTK alum asks her daughter, “You ready to see? Look, I got a Sharpie. I want to write really cool, positive things on the wall, because they’re gonna start putting up the walls and the floors.”

In another confessional, she gets into why she wants each of her children to write a special message on the wooden beams before the drywall is installed.
“I really wanted to write some special notes and intentions and prayers on the walls in every room and have each kid say a prayer and something that meant something to them,” she says.
Along with Chicago, the reality star shares daughter North, 12, and sons Saint, 9, and Psalm, 6, with ex Kanye West.
She continues, “I want my kids to always remember our home as such a happy, positive place that they could always come back to. And now we have that in the bones of our home — these powerful messages that will be there forever.”
Kim tells Chicago, “I’m going to show you some things. I wrote: ‘Welcome to this happy home. May God protect our family and everyone who enters.’” She adds, “Saint wrote, ‘You’re fine as you’re come.’”
Chicago takes the Sharpie and starts to write her own message on the wall: “Be Happy.” The simple note appears to resonate with her mom, as she exclaims, “Be happy! I love that.”

In a previous episode of The Kardashians back in March, the SKIMS founder revealed her Southern California estate was undergoing a major renovation, resulting in her and her kids packing everything up and temporarily relocating. At the time, she said she and her kids would be out of the home for a year and a half.
Kim purchased the sprawling compound for a reported $20 million with West in 2014, but her mom Kris Jenner, tweeted in April 2018 that after the couple had completely overhauled the original structure, the house was at that point worth $60 million.
Kim later paid West $23 million to keep the home in 2021 before their divorce was officially finalized in 2022.

In the episode, Kim said she’s excited for “new energy” in her longtime home, and showed her renovation plans to Kris. She casually dropped that she’s designing a whole space for “him.”
“Who’s him?” Kris asked, to which Kim responded, “I don’t know. Manifesting!”
In a confessional, Kardashian said she realized she was redesigning her entire home without considering a “his” side. “I won’t be open to having a partner if I don’t build it,” she explained. “If you build it, he will come.”
New episodes of The Kardashians premiere Thursdays on Hulu.
