Caroline Kennedy’s Daughter Tatiana Schlossberg Shares Terminal Cancer Diagnosis

Tatiana Sloshberg is battling a heartbreaking diagnosis. On November 22nd, the daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlloberg reveals in an essay published by The New Yorker that she has been diagnosed with acute myoid leukemia. In the essay, Tatiana explains that the diagnosis came just hours after delivering her second child in May 2024. Sharing that doctors noticed her white blood cell count was abnormally high. The doctor said it could just be something related to pregnancy and delivery or it could be leukemia. Hours later, her doctors told her that she had acute myoid leukemia, which according to the American Cancer Society is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow and the most common leukemia in adults. Tatiana then spent several weeks at Colombia Presbyterian Hospital after giving birth to her daughter before being transferred to another facility for a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, she relapsed going on to join several clinical trials this year. As she recalls, quote, “During the latest clinical trial, my doctor told me that he could keep me alive for a year, maybe. And as she continues her battle with cancer, the 35-year-old has praised her family for their support during this difficult time. My husband George did everything for me that he possibly could. He talked to all the doctors and insurance people that I didn’t want to talk to. He slept on the floor of the hospital.” She adds, “My parents and my brother and sister, too, have been raising my children and sitting in various hospital rooms almost every day for the last year and a half. They have held my hand unflinchingly while I have suffered, trying not to show their pain and sadness in order to protect me from it.
