Martin Kemp’s son Roman has revealed that Martin and Shirlie welcomed the Princess of Wales into their home – and they gifted her some of their home-pressed apple juice

I’m A Celebrity star Martin Kemp has a secret friendship with the Princess of Wales Roman has revealed.
The Spandau Ballet legend, became a household name in the 1980s before going on to star in The Krays and EastEnders. The musician and actor, 64, surprised his campmates on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! earlier this week when he revealed he had been in the running to be 007.
Away form the TV screens Martin has a wonderful wife, Shirlie Holliman, to whom he has been married since 1988 and they share two children, Roman and Harley Moon Kemp. The two siblings are now featured in the latest series of Celebrity Race Across The World.

Roman has revealed that Martin and Shirlie once welcomed the Princess of Wales into their home – and it was all thanks to him. Roman revealed that the Princess of Wales got in touch with him to set up a meeting about a mental health project he had been fronting.
After a Zoom call with Kate, she asked to come to his house for filming for the project but he instead suggested they instead go to his parents’, Martin Kemp and Shirlie Holliman.
When Kate arrived, Roman said she was quick to offer to take off her shoes – and as she left the Kemp family gifted her some of their homegrown apple juice.

Discussing the day with The Sun on Saturday, Roman said: “So my mum raced out and got a load of nice things in, and suddenly the future Queen is having tea and biscuits with her and my dad!
“I remember when she arrived she could see everyone else had taken their shoes off so she offered to take hers off. It was surreal, somehow you never expect to see a member of the Royal Family in their socks!”
Roman added: “Working with her was amazing. She very kindly wrote me a thank-you note too which I have framed on my wall at home.”
