Tara Reid Says She Was Hospitalized After Being Drugged at Hotel Bar | E! News

Tara Reed says she was hospitalized after recently being drugged while at a hotel bar. The American Pie star details a traumatic incident that led to her being taken to the hospital during a recent trip to Chicago, where she believes her drink was spiked with an unknown substance. After checking into her hotel, the 50-year-old says she went downstairs for a glass of wine, which she left at the bar while she smoked a cigarette outside. When she returned, she found a napkin had been placed on her glass. She says in a November 24th interview with TMZ, “I thought that was weird because I didn’t put that over my drink. Then I drank my drink and without even finishing my drink, I passed out. Before I knew it, I was in the hospital 8 hours later.” She tells the outlet that when she regained consciousness, doctors told her she had been drugged, though she did not ask medical staff what substance was in her system. The actress was in the Windy City to appear at the Chicago Sports Spectacular November 23rd. After being picked up from the hospital by her agent, Tara proceeded to her event as planned. Despite describing her experience in the city as quote, “a big blur, she was grateful that bystanders were able to offer assistance.” She tells TMZ, “The whole thing is really scary. I’m just glad that I was at a public place and that there was security there to help me.” In a statement to E! news. Tara’s rep confirms the actress filed a police report related to the incident and is cooperating fully with authorities, adding, “Tara is recovering and asks for privacy during this traumatic time.” She also urges everyone to be careful, watch your drinks, and never leave them unattended as this can happen to anyone.
