Well, I’ll never forget telling Ashton I was a virgin. He was like, “Why?” I was like, “Because I haven’t met my husband yet.” Like, at this age, I’m very innocent. I’m not thinking about other people and their sex lives at all, but I’ve always been open. Legs crossbow. Jessica Simpson was a proud virgin at the age of 22, which was a surprise to Ashton Kutcher. Entertainment Tonight played the pop star turned fashion mogul her 2002 appearance on Ashton’s sitcom That70 Show. And it turns out she had a lot in common with her character. I was just shooting a scene with Ashton, Michael, and I was telling him that we couldn’t do it because I was a virgin. I’m a virgin. What a coincidence. Me, too. Jess burst out laughing watching the throwback clip. At the time, she was open about saving herself for marriage. And in October of that year, she married fellow pop singer Nicholas in Texas. Two years earlier, she told People magazine, “My virginity is something I stand strong in. It’s not always easy, but I do respect it. Virginity can be cool and sexy.” Jessica and Nick were reality TV pioneers. Their MTV show, Newlyweds, from 2003 to 2005 was an instant hit and spawned hilariously honest interactions like the iconic Chicken of the Sea moment. Is this chicken what I have or is this fish? I know it’s tuna, but it it says chicken by the sea. That stupid. What? Don’t make fun of me right now. I’m not in the mood. You act like you’ve never had tuna before. Two decades later, she was able to poke fun at herself alongside her daughter in a commercial for Chicken of the Sea. Mom, what are you eating in that packet? It’s called chicken of the sea, but it’s not really chicken. It’s tuna. So, don’t get confused by it. Who would ever get confused by that? No one. Not your mom. Nick and Jessica ultimately announced their split on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving 2005, and their failed relationship became a warning for future reality TV couples everywhere. Think twice before welcoming cameras into your home.

The singer told “Entertainment Tonight” over the weekend that upon finding out she was a virgin at age 22, the actor immediately asked, “Why?”
At the time, Simpson replied, “Because I haven’t met my husband yet.”
