Inside Kate Middleton, Prince William’s holiday traditions | Royals Recap

All right, the holidays are here officially and of course with that comes a lot of appearances from the royals which we love. We’ve already seen Kate Middleton and Prince William out and about. Charlie, this was a gorgeous stunning appearance for them. Oh, I mean I feel like when it comes to Kate Middleton, every appearance is gorgeous and stunning. When you have a hair of a head of hair so thick and voluuptuous, how could it not be? But no, this really was a milestone moment for Kate William, who appeared at the 2025 Royal Variety performance, which took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London. They made a glittering red carpet appearance. They sure did. Kate looked incredible. She was wearing a kind of green velvet offthe-shoulder dress. William obviously looked very dapper in a tuxedo. And they got to meet a host of celebrities, performers, and even Mr. Paddington Bear himself. Animatronic Paddington Bear. He’s making his rounds. Out of everyone they met, that is who I am the most jealous of. You know, Paddington Bear is an icon. An icon. And he’s been all over my for you page. Everyone wants to meet him. He is the number one A-lister right now. But this was a particularly important event for William and especially Kate because it marked the first Royal Variety performance that she has attended since she was diagnosed with cancer. Kate and William have not attended this event together since November 2023. Obviously in 2024, Kate announced that she was undergoing treatment for cancer. She took a very big step back from a lot of official engagements. We didn’t see her for several months as she took the time that she needed to heal, to go through everything that she was going through and to just spend time recuperating behind closed doors. So, Christmas 2024 was a very, very different occasion to what I expect we are going to see this year. I think judging by how brilliant Kate looked at this event, I think we can expect to see a lot more of both her and William together as a couple. And oh boy, did they look all loveydovey. They did. They looked like they were just giving love glares to each other. They looked happy to be there. They were making hating each other and loving each other at the same time. Oh, we glances. Yes, I guess. Stealing glances. Stolen glances. The look of love. the look of love. Honestly, anyone would think it was Valentine’s Day, not Thanksgiving. Now, for those of you wondering, Thanksgiving not really a thing in the UK, right? True. So, good point. But the end of November does mark a very significant ramping up towards Christmas Day and what we call Boxing Day in the UK. And events happen pretty much every day. So, there is going to be ample opportunity for us to see William and Kate together looking all loveydvey. And hopefully when the schools go on holiday for the festive season in the UK, we will also get a chance to see the children. Kate did mention to poor old Paddington that George, Charlotte, and Louiesie would have been devastated to have missed the royal variety performance because they too like everyone wanted to meet wanted to meet Bington. Mr. Bear. Yes. Exactly. Needless to say though, plenty of festive fun to come. And then of course on Christmas Day itself, we may well see William, Kate, the children attending the annual church service with other members of the royal family. But it is going to be interesting because this has been a very tumultuous year for the royal family. You know, Prince Andrew finally gave up all of his royal titles. I called him Prince Andrew. My mistake. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor officially gave up all of his royal titles. He is effectively a persona non grata as far as the public facing royal family is concerned. So I think a lot of eyes are going to be on the church that the royal family normally attends to see whether Andrew will even be there which I feel like is going to create a lock in that Kate will be there. But people really look to her as this holiday icon even over here in America. So I think it’s going to be all eyes on the family and I’m sure they will be like, “Kate, please can you come help us? Go smile. Go smile. We’re plaid. Come on. Come on. Come on. We want to see the holiday festivities.” But she just is always an icon. So hopefully we see her. And hopefully we don’t see Andrew. I mean fingers crossed. I it’s going to be uncomfortable because you know Andrew is kind of now living where the family normally gathers to celebrate Christmas. So it’s unavoidable I think that he’s going to be involved in the private Christmas festivities. But imagine the awkwardness involved in that situation. We’ll reconvene after Christmas. We will reconvene. We can discuss until then we’ll have to just keep watching everything that the royal family does because they’re going to bring the holiday cheer for us. even if we’re looking at some of the other stuff they have going on. And I loved Kate’s dress. Oh, she looks stunning at the original event that we were talking about because it was this like Christmy green. It was as if she was saying, “Hey, it’s my time. It’s just like this whole deck those holes. Get the jingle bells out.” She’s her own version of Mariah Carey. Like, all right, this is my time. My season is here. I’m going to come out. I feel like festive Kate is a Barbie doll and she too defrost just like Mariah Carey and Michael. Yes. This is their time to shine. It really is. She does also do that annual church choir concert, right? The carol concert. Yes. So, you’re so American. The annual church choir concert. The carol concert. She does host a charity carol concert every year. Honestly, if you ever have the opportunity to go to the UK at Christmas time, make sure that a carol service is on your list of things to do because they are just spectacular. Particularly the kind that Kate is known for throwing. Absolutely amazing. Carols are the best. So festive. Um but yes, it’s Christmas really is a season for the royal family to shine, you know, and and it’s going to be difficult this year as they navigate everything that’s been going on. But I think that it is also a chance for them to put on a united front, you know. I think we might even see Princess Beatatrice, Princess Eugenei joining the royal family at the church service on Christmas Day just to show that while Andrew has been understandably sidelined, the rest of the royal family remain a very strong. Yeah, exactly. But who knows? Well, my eyes will be on Kate, what she’s wearing, the kids if Paddington Bear if he’s going to attend. Maybe they invited him the other night when they were with him. And hopefully some faces from Louis because we absolutely cannot miss a season without he was so funny in the pictures just from last season of like anything he went to. I mean, he’s the most he has the most expressive face. You can tell from a mile off when he’s not having fun. You can tell from a mile off when he is having fun. Um, and genuinely I think what I would love to see even more is live footage from inside the Christmas Day church service. Just of Louis, of course. Just live footage of Louis. That’s Last year, wasn’t it like or two years ago or something? He was like holding the candle and like trying to blow it out or whatnot. No, he’s Yeah, he’s an adorable kid. I But, you know, I think also this Christmas is a really great opportunity for William and Kate to settle into their new home. They were doing some renovations to this very impressive property. Yes. In Windsor Great Park. And you know, everyone is kind of saying that this is a fresh chapter for them, that they’ve kind of moved on from their former home into this new property so that they really can move past all of the horrible things that they’ve been through over the last 18 months to two years, including Kate’s cancer diagnosis and treatment. And I think that the idea of them spending Christmas in their new home with their kids with Kate having a clean bill of health. I I think that’s probably the best Christmas present that any of them could ask for. I mean, any of us, anyone that has gone through something like that. I know Kate was at the event last week and she was hugging Jesse Jay. I’m sure they fonded over their cancer treatments they’ve had both had to go through. So, it is a special time of year for them. and even just being someone that’s watching them from the outside looking in. It seems like it’s going to be a really monumental moment for them to be able to come together as a family. So, you make it sound like we’re going to be at the windows like from the outside watching in. Don’t mind us. We’re like there’s Andrew. Wait, look over there. Look, look, look, Charlie, come to this window. Yeah, that’ll be us. They’ll kick us off the property before we even get anywhere near them, though. So, unfortunately, we’ll have to watch the interwebs and see what what those people get for us. And I guess in the meantime, all that’s left is for us to cross our fingers that we get some good royal festive action and to wish all of you a very happy Thanksgiving. Even though we don’t have it in the UK, I still love any excuse to chow down on a big meal. Absolutely, as you should. And then we all move in to the holiday season. So, yay. Merry Thanksgiving. Kate Middleton and Jessie J shared a warm embrace after bonding over their battles with cancer. The Princess of Wales was photographed hugging the pop star at the Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London Wednesday night. The “Price Tag” singer was seen chatting with the royal before both leaned in to sweetly wrap their arms around each other. The evening was Middleton’s first time back at the annual charity event since her cancer diagnosis in March 2024 and subsequent recovery. It’s also the sixth time she and William have attended the performance, which raises funds for entertainers facing illness or financial hardship. The Prince and Princess of Wales looked festive as they kicked off the holiday season. On December 5th, Kate will host her annual “Together at Christmas” choral concert on at Westminster Abbey, which will air on ITV1 and ITVX on Christmas Eve. The duo is also expected to attend the family’s annual Christmas mass this year.
