The Royal Family has been under the spotlight as the scandal involving Fergie and Andrew continues to unfold. As Christmas approaches, the Windsor clan is quietly preparing for its traditional festive celebrations.

From the family’s customary stroll to church on Christmas Day in Sandringham, King Charles’s yearly message, to the Princess of Wales’ carol service, it’s a bustling period for the Royals.

However, the run-up to Christmas has been overshadowed by controversy surrounding Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, 65, and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, 66, due to their connections with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This month, the US Congress requested Andrew to testify about his association with the disgraced financier, as part of the US House Oversight Committee’s investigation into Epstein’s sex trafficking ring.

The King’s brother failed to respond to the committee within the two-week deadline they set. Andrew strongly refutes all allegations against him.

The ongoing controversy, which has resulted in Andrew being compelled to vacate his long-standing residence at the Royal Lodge and permanently relinquish his Royal titles, briefly cast doubt on certain aspects of the traditional Royal Christmas.

With Andrew set to relocate to a property on the King’s privately owned Sandringham estate – where the Windsors celebrate the festive season annually – it’s reported that the former prince will make the move in January, ensuring he avoids any encounters with other senior royals over the Christmas period, reports the Mirror.

So far, the royals have remained largely silent about their Christmas plans, although it is widely reported that Andrew and Fergie have not been invited to join Charles and his family.

However, their daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, are reportedly still welcome.

Zara Tindall, 44, daughter of Princess Anne, broke her silence about the upcoming festivities when she attended a glamorous event with her husband Mike, 47, earlier this week.

The couple graced the 2025 Beauty Awards in London, with Zara looking stunning in a Rebecca Vallance dress made from black fabric adorned with delicate crystal embellishments.

Former rugby star Mike looked dapper in a smart navy blue suit as the couple shared their Christmas plans with Zara’s family and their preferred type of date night. “We are so lucky, Christmas is always amazing,” Zara revealed at the event, according to Marie Claire.

“We get to do a lot of fun things, and the place looks amazing. We will see everyone.”

Zara confirmed that they would be attending the usual family festivities, including Princess Kate’s popular carol service, Together at Christmas.

Despite appearing to enjoy themselves at the red carpet event, Mike quipped that it wasn’t their typical “ideal date night”, confessing they usually prefer something “very low key.”

He elaborated that their favourite way to spend time together typically involves “food, telly and a glass of vino.”
