Tony Germano, a voice actor featured in Netflix and Nickelodeon projects, fell to his death while visiting family in Brazil, PEOPLE reported. He was 55.
Germano died following the fatal fall in São Paulo on Wednesday, Nov. 26, a representative for the Brazilian actor told PEOPLE. The actor was staying at his parents’ house before the fall, during which he lost his balance, according to local outlets Folha de São Paulo and O Estado de São Paulo.
“It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the passing of actor and voice artist Tony Germano,” the representative told PEOPLE.
“We kindly ask for respect and understanding during this painful time for his family, friends, and colleagues,” they added. “Tony leaves behind a legacy of dedication, generosity and immense talent that touched everyone who had the privilege of working with him. His absence will be deeply felt.”
Germano was best known for voicing characters in the Portuguese adaptations of Nickelodeon’s “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn” and Netflix’s “Go, Dog, Go!,” according to PEOPLE. He also appeared in “Elena of Avalor,” “The Muppets” and on the soundtrack of Disney’s 2017 live-action “Beauty and the Beast.” Germano’s other notable projects include “Labyrinth of Lost Boys” (2025), “An Unforgettable Year: Autumn” (2023) and “Phantom Summer” (2022), according to the actor’s IMDb profile.
Matheus Marchetti, who directed “Labyrinth of Lost Boys,” paid tribute to Germano in a lengthy Instagram post.
“I am so lucky to have found a soul as generous, as talented, and as endearing as Tony Germano,” Marchetti wrote in the post that was translated from Portuguese to English.
“It’s a gift from the rarest of all. It’s sad for those who couldn’t work with him, whether on stage, on screen, or in life,” Marchetti continued. “Those of us who have been able to have even a bit of Tony in our lives are very very lucky.”
A service for Germano was held at the Bosque da Paz Cemetery in Vargem Grande Paulista on Thursday, Nov. 27, the actor’s rep told PEOPLE.
