Anna Winour is reacting to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos’s 2026 Met Gala roles. After Lauren and Jeff were revealed as the primary donors funding the 2026 Met Gala, sparking some backlash online, the former editor and chief of Vogue shares her two cents. Anna tells CNN on November 23rd, “I think Lauren is going to be a wonderful asset to the museum and to the event. I’m very grateful for her incredible generosity, and she’s a great lover of costume and obviously of fashion. So, we’re thrilled she’s part of the night. The Amazon founder and his wife’s roles in the Metropolitan Museum of Arts biggest fundraising event was announced along with the events theme of costume art on November 17th. Following the couple as the evening’s biggest sponsors will be St. Lauron and Vogue publisher Conde Nast. The 2026 theme honors the exhibit of the same name, costume art, becoming the first to occupy the museum’s almost 12,000 square foot new wing, the Kai Mnast Galleries. In the new space, some of the museum’s most significant art pieces will be paired alongside historical and modern garments from the Costume Institute.
