One of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s beloved friends have invited her great-grandkids Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, to a special event, and we bet she would have been so happy. The invite comes from someone the Queen loved: Paddington Bear!

Representatives for the famous U.K. icon invited Prince William and Kate Middleton’s kids to the new Paddington The Musical, a West End production starring the famous bear who is a symbol of British culture, according to Hello! Magazine. The Queen met Paddington Bear multiple times and even shared a marmalade sandwich with him in a special video for the Platinum Jubilee in 2022.

At the red carpet premiere of the theatre show, producer Sonia Friedman told Hello!, “We can’t wait for Paddington to meet the children of the Prince and Princess of Wales because I think they’re going to come to the show, which will be very special.”

McFly singer Tom Fletcher, who wrote the original music and lyrics for the show, commented on the Prince and Princess of Wales hopefully bringing their kids to the musical. “I have invited [the Prince and Princess of Wales] to see the show, so who knows. Hopefully, at some point, they’ll make it to a theatre to see it,” he told Hello! on the red carpet.

He also got to introduce Paddington to Prince William and Middleton at a Royal Variety performance last month. “I got to introduce Paddington to their Royal Highnesses, which was quite a surreal moment,” he said. “They seemed to really enjoy it – we got to perform a tiny little peek of the show at the Royal Variety, and it went down very well, so I’m hoping it gets the same reaction tonight.”

At the Royal Variety show, the Waleses got to see a performance from the musical. Afterward, Middleton said how jealous her kids would be of their parents. “My kiddies will be very sad” to miss the event, she said, per PEOPLE, adding, “We are going to have to keep it a big secret.”

We wouldn’t be surprised if they brought their kids to the show. After all, the Waleses often bring their kids to huge pop culture moments, including Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and a filming of the new Harry Potter series filming at Windsor Great Park. At that behind-the-scenes moment, sources told Daily Mail that Kate and the kids got to meet the 11-year-old actor who plays Harry, Dominic McLaughlin, and watch scenes from the upcoming HBO series be recorded.

“It was so special, Kate and the children met the young actors and the director on the set. There was only one night of filming there so it really was a magical ticket,” the insider told the outlet. “And as for Louis, he got the chance to ride on the train with the driver. He seemed to absolutely love it. It’s the dream for most children to step aboard the Hogwarts Express.”

Hopefully, they will get to see Paddington The Musical as well — we know they will have a fabulous time!
