Elizabeth Olsen Gets Emotional Remembering The Purity of Her First Role

I really enjoy getting older. The people we become hopefully are better versions of ourselves than the people we were. But there is something to be said about first experiences. There’s such a purity to not knowing how the machine of releasing something works. So I think about Martha Marcene and how freeing that felt cuz there’s just no expectations and it was such a young crew. Everyone was like pretty close out of college. The oldest crew member was 30. We were just fooling around. We had so much fun on the weekends. It was really great experience.

There’s a special kind of magic in our “firsts.” For Oscar-nominee Elizabeth Olsen, her first major film role in Martha Marcy May Marlene was an experience she’ll never forget.

Joined by her Eternity co-star Miles Teller, Elizabeth looks back on the “purity of not knowing” what a film set was, and the incredible freedom that came from working with a young crew with no expectations. It’s a beautiful, nostalgic look at the start of a superstar’s career.

Eternity is out in UK cinemas now!
