Anyone in the business know what big splashy press tours are really like? All I could think of when I saw the Wicked press tour was that both Ariana and Cynthia had to be made of a very strong constitution to do such an extensive press tour. How much are actors paid to do press? Is it contractual? Can actors refuse to do it?
The Superman press tour with David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult also seemed exhausting.
I do know that sometimes the press tours can get very intrusive, with actors of some tv shows (cough, Bridgerton, cough) encouraged to "ship bait" during the press tour for "fanservicing."
Can people provide some tea on this? Always been so curious.
