What Miley Cyrus Has Said About Marriage After Divorce | E! News

Miley Cyrus knows that she can buy herself flowers as the Grammy winner embarks in a new chapter with her fiance Max Mirando, who confirmed their engagement on December 2nd after Miley stepped out on a red carpet wearing a ring on that finger. It seems to be the perfect time to look back on everything the singer said about tying the knot in the past. Because for Miley, who was previously married to Liam Hemsworth, from 2018 to 2020, walking down the aisle was never a priority. As she previously said during an interview with SiriusXM back in 2017, “I never really cared that much. I am sure my fans are going to pull up me at 12 saying, “Oh, I want to have kids.” But like, I don’t as a 27-year-old woman that would have a little bit more of a realistic idea of what they want. That has never been kind of my priority. In fact, after she and Liam called it quits in 2019, shortly after their California home burned in the Malibu fires, she reflected on how society convinces people that quote, “Living in a house playing wife will make you quote happier.” Telling Rolling Stone following the end of their relationship, “I was way more off of my path at that time than any of the times before where my sanity was being questioned.” But that hasn’t soured Miley on love and relationships. After all, she said her love story with Max, who she started dating in 2021, has taught her that she has the capacity for quote, “starting over and building again.” She said at the press conference for Avatar Fire and Ash per Hello Magazine, “After I lost my house in the fires, that wasn’t all that I lost. I really actually went down to the ashes and rebuilt my life personally and physically with my home. [Music] [Music]

    1. PTSD is real. The person who said we would be together forever broke my heart into pieces. For three months, I drank myself to sleep every night. Now that I've been sober for two weeks, I joined a study group. The hard part is that I still love him. We have been together since high school. My heart still aches.
