Donyelle Jones, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Finalist, Dead at 46

I am in hospice and I have done everything possible to extend my time here in this dimension. And at this point, I have surrendered to whatever God’s will is. I’ve received 10 years of miracles. What else can I possibly ask for? You only live your life once and I never want to live with regrets. Danielle Jones, who was a finalist on season 2 of So You Think You Can Dance, dead after a near decade long battle with breast cancer. She was 46 years old. Danielle’s death announced in a short Instagram statement on Tuesday. Her spirit never dimmed, her heart never hardened, and even in the storm, she never lost her smile. There’s always beauty in hardship. Just days before her death, she appeared pained as she delivered this final message to her fans. The cancer causing her liver to fail. The dance pro no longer able to eat. Right now, I’m going through something extremely difficult. physically, but in my mind, in my spirit, in my knowing, I’m at peace. I have no fear. About a month ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Danielle first revealed her diagnosis back in 2016. At that point, they had told me um my expectation was weeks. They didn’t give me months. They didn’t give me years. They thought I had weeks to live. But she documented the ups and downs of her journey for another nine plus years. I’m at a crossroads right now and I’m really scared. Stop highlighting the negative in your life and start highlighting the positive. [Music] I thought you were very good. Most fans first met Danielle 10 years before her diagnosis in 2006 when she placed third on So You Think You Can Dance. [Music] et spoke with Danielle and the other finalists that same year at the Teen Choice Awards. Oh my god, it’s great. The people, the energy is amazing. So, I just can’t wait till the show starts. This morning I woke up from a dream with tears in my eyes. My dance partner and friend Doniel uh came out. I was crying tears of joy because she wasn’t in pain. I woke up at 8:40 a.m. this morning, uh, only to find out that that Danielle had passed away at 8:34 a.m. [Applause] [Music] And I am so fortunate to have shared the floor with her. I love you, don’t you? I know that my legacy lives on through all the people that I was able to connect with and I’m so proud of that. No matter what you’re going through, God is always with you. [Applause]
