The Duke of Sussex’s security measures in the UK are reportedly under review.
Following his correspondence with Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood after her appointment, Harry formally requested a risk assessment from the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec), overseen by the Home Office, according to a source close to the duke last October. The Sun has reported that the Home Office has now commissioned a threat assessment, the first since 2020.
This development follows Harry’s unsuccessful appeal in May against the dismissal of his High Court claim against the Home Office over Ravec’s decision that he should receive a different level of taxpayer-funded protection while in the UK.

Harry and the Duchess of Sussex relocated first to Canada and then California after announcing their intention to step back as senior royals. This legal challenge arose following their departure from the UK. The duke expressed that the Court of Appeal’s decision makes it “impossible” for him to safely bring Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, back to the UK.
According to The Sun, Ravec has now directed its Risk Management Board to re-evaluate Harry’s threat level. The newspaper reports that this process is already in motion, with a decision anticipated next month.

A Government spokesperson commented: “The UK Government’s protective security system is rigorous and proportionate. It is our long-standing policy not to provide detailed information on those arrangements, as doing so could compromise their integrity and affect individuals’ security.”
During Harry’s most recent visit to the UK in September, a “known stalker” reportedly came “within feet” of him on two occasions, according to a report in The Telegraph.
