Kelsea Ballerini has threatened to stop singing one of her popular songs if fans continue to disrespect her during live shows.

The country music singer was performing her song “Penthouse” at her show in Sydney, Australia on Friday, Dec. 5 when a heckler screamed, “Team Morgan,” a reference to Ballerini’s ex-husband Morgan Evans.

“[Expletive] off,” Ballerini replied as other concertgoers laughed and cheered, as seen in a TikTok of the incident. “Team everyone’s happy.”

The next day, Ballerini commented further on the situation by resharing a clip of the exchange on her Instagram Story along with a warning about future interruptions.

“Respectfully, if anyone yells anything disrespectful to anyone during this song again, it will no longer be on the setlist,” she wrote in the Dec. 6 post, per E! News. “Please let this be a song that matters to people and not a place to insert yourself into a world that doesn’t exist and was never yours to begin with.”

This is not the first time Ballerini has interacted with fans because of references about Evans. In February, she briefly stopped a show in Florida after they began a vulgar chant about Evans, again during “Penthouse.”

“Penthouse” was released in 2023 as part of the EP “Rolling Up the Welcome Mat.” Ballerini and Evans were married from 2017 to 2022, according to E! News.

Ballerini has three Australian dates left on her “Live On Tour.” Her next performance is scheduled for Monday night in Melbourne.
