Crown Princess Victoria wore one of her favorite tiaras, the Baden Fringe Tiara. The sparkler originally belonged to another princess of the same name, Princess Viktoria of Baden. As noted by The Royal Watcher, the future Queen of Sweden (who lived from 1862 to 1930), contributed a significant number of jewels to the Swedish royal family’s coffers, when she married the future King Gustav V of Sweden in 1881. Princess Viktoria received this headpiece as a wedding present from her parents, Grand Duke Frederick I of Baden and Princess Louise of Prussia, and the design was inspired by the kokoshniks (traditional Russian headdresses) seen in the Russian royal court. Many ladies of the Swedish royal family have worn this number in recent years, including Queen Silvia and even King Carl Gustav’s sister, Princess Christina.

Crown Princess Victoria has been wearing the Baden Fringe Tiara since she was a teenager, but its most famous appearance perhaps is in her 2010 engagement photo to her now-husband, Prince Daniel.
