Ricki Lake Stunned After Stranger Finds Family Photos She Thought Were Lost In Palisades Fire
You guys, the craziest thing happened. I can’t even I can’t even process. Like, my words are not coming. Ricky Lake is embracing an unexpected holiday miracle. The TV personality was floored when a stranger reached out after finding a box of personal photos that Ricky assumed she’d lost when her home burned down in the Los Angeles fires. Artist Patty Scandan had been browsing a Pasadena flea market when she came across the vintage images that she thought would serve as inspiration for her next project, only to realize that the woman who caught her eye was actually Ricky. Opened the pictures and the first one I saw was this one. Yeah, that’s that’s me with Milo, my my kid who’s now 28. So, I saw that and I thought, “Oh, I love that woman’s face.” When I got home and I started looking through these and all of a sudden I was like, “Wait a minute, I feel like I know her and that’s Ricky Lake.” Patty put out a call to action on social media looking for a way to reach the Hairspray icon, knowing that she’d likely want her photos returned, and the pair soon connected in a heartfelt conversation shared on Instagram. These pictures are so priceless to me. They would be anyway, Patty. But the fact that I lost all of these images in the fire in January, I mean, I thought they were gone forever. I had made peace. It was such a heartache and such a painful thing to kind of come to terms with that all of these memories are no longer in, you know, in front of me. They’re just in my mind and heart now. But the fact that we found these is unbelievable. Ricky and Patty echoed many fans wanting to get to the bottom of the stunning turn of events, and they soon concluded that Ricky had actually sent the photos to a friend years earlier, and they likely found their way to the flea market through a possible estate sale. They both agreed that the discovery felt especially astonishing in the wake of what Ricky had been through at the start of the year. And then I saw that you’d been through the fire. My heart was racing and I was like, I got to contact her. This is so exciting that to to find these. I mean, I I I can’t believe what a miracle. I really cannot thank you enough for your generosity making the effort to find me and the fact that like I’m going to get something back that I thought was lost forever is really is really it gives it makes me so happy.
