Gal Gadot dealt massive blow at Venice Film Festival ahead of new movie premiere
Actress Gal Gadot has opted to skip the Venice Film Festival after various activist groups and petitions have called for her to be uninvited. The Wonder Woman star has been in hot water especially after recent statements in which she said her recent live-action Snow White reboot failed at the box office because of her support for Israel during its military campaign in Gaza. Activist group Artists 4 Palestine has called for Festival organizers to withdraw her invitation ‘along with any artist and celebrity who publicly and actively supports genocide’, regardless of the fact that she stars in a new film premiering at the festival titled ‘In The Hand of Dante’. Gadot has since confirmed that she will not be in Venice but festival boss Alberto Barbero let it be known that the festival is ‘a place of openness and debate that does not censor anybody’ and that ‘if they (Gadot) want to be here they will be here.’
