Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s Wenne Alton Davis Dead at 60 After Being Hit By a Car

    The acting world is mourning a sudden loss. When Alton Davis, best known for playing roles on The Marvelous Mrs. Masel, Girls 5 Eva, and New Amsterdam, died after being hit by a car in New York City December 8th, police and their agent confirmed to the New York Times. Police told the outlet Davis was hit by an SUV that was traveling on West 53rd Street in Midtown Manhattan and made a left turn on Broadway where the vehicle struck a pedestrian. Davis was transferred to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. Enus has reached out to authorities and a rep for Davis, but hasn’t heard back. Davis’s manager, Jamie Harris, told the New York Times that the actor was originally born as Wendy Davis in North Carolina on October 18th, 1956, but chose to use the name when Alton Davis for acting roles. They moved to New York in their late 20s to work as a stand-up comedian before turning to acting. They also worked security at Johnf Kennedy International Airport. Harris shared in a statement she had a huge love for New York, for acting, for her colleagues at JFK, and most of all her family and her circle of friends, which was also huge. In addition to acting work, Davis, who played a police officer on season 5 of The Marvelous Mrs. Masel, often posted on Instagram about their love of boxing and their cat, Roxy, when was 60 years old.
