Princess Kate and Prince William’s “aura” as they led their children into their biggest family event of the year went viral on TikTok.
The Prince and Princess of Wales led Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis into Westminster Abbey, in London, on Friday for Kate’s Together at Christmas carol service.
Why It Matters
Kate’s Together at Christmas carol service is one of if not the biggest event in Kate’s calendar each year and has become an opportunity for the royals to bring unity at Christmas.
A video of the moment was viewed 377,000 times and liked 33,800 times after being posted on TikTok with the message: “The WALES FAMILY! AURA At ‘Together at Christmas’ Carol Concert!”
What to Know
Outside the Abbey’s great west door, the family paused at a “Connection Tree” decorated with paper chains bearing the names of invited guests. The children added their own names to the tree, a symbol of togetherness and connection, underscoring the theme of the service.
Princess Kate spoke with lead singer Dan Smith of Bastille before the service, telling him just how excited George, Charlotte and Louis were about the service: “They’re really excited, it’s become such a tradition.”
During the service, William delivered a reading, as did actors Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Approximately 1,600 guests attended, including community volunteers and celebrities.
What People Are Saying
Kate wrote a special letter which was given to guests at the carol service. It read: “At its heart, Christmas speaks of love taking form in the simplest, most human ways. Not in sentimental or grand gestures, but gentle ones. A moment of listening, a word of comfort, a friendly conversation, a helping hand, presence.
“These simple acts of care might seem small, but they contribute to the beautiful tapestry of life to which we all belong. Christmas is a time that reminds us how deeply our lives are woven together.
“Just as the roots of trees share strength beneath the soil, unseen but vital, so too do we. We are drawn by an instinctive pull towards belonging and connection. Even with all the rushing around and familiar traditions, there is a quieter sense of what it calls out in us.
“There is a softness to the season that reminds us of something easy to forget; that what we do matters. Our words, our choices, and even the ways we look out for one another—they ripple outward, touching lives we may never see.
“At a time when life can sometimes feel fragmented or uncertain, the Christmas season invites us to remember the power of reaching out to one another with generosity of heart, understanding and hope.”
One fan replied to the TikTok post saying, “Prince George and Princess Charlotte has more aura,” while another wrote: “Beautiful family Prince George has infinite aura.”
