Peter Greene, an actor known for his roles in “Pulp Fiction” and “The Mask,” was found dead in his New York City home on Friday.
The New York Daily News first reported that Greene, 60, was found dead after a wellness check was conducted due to neighbors hearing Christmas music blasting from his apartment for over 24 hours.
Greene’s manager, Gregg Edwards, also confirmed the actor’s death and said his family had been notified.
Police have said at this stage in the investigation they do not suspect foul play was involved in Greene’s death.
Greene has a public history of battling substance abuse and in 2007 was arrested for possession of crack cocaine.
A cause of death is still to be determined by the New York medical examiner.
From Montclair, New Jersey, Greene started acting in his 20s, according to his IMDB biography. He became known as a character actor and his most popular roles come from playing the antagonists Zed in “Pulp Fiction” and Darian in “The Mask,” both in 1994.
Edwards told New York Daily News that Greene was, “one of the most brilliant character actors on the planet” and “truly one of the great actors of our generation.”
Greene‘s additional film credits include appearances in “Clean, Shaven,” “The Usual Suspects” and “Training Day.”
Greene is survived by a sister and brother, according to Edwards.
