The View came under fire during the latest episode of Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace’s TV series Landman.
On Sunday’s episode, Billy Bob Thornton’s character of Tommy Norris had a few choice words for the popular ABC daytime talk show, which features cohosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro.
During a phone call conversation with his estranged father T.L. (played by Sam Elliott), the oil executive suggested T.L. find some new hobbies during his downtime now that he’s retired.

“Well s**t, do whatever you want to, read a book or watch TV, watch one of those daytime talk shows, like The View or something,” Tommy recommended (per Entertainment Weekly), to which T.L. asked: “What’s The View?”
That’s when 70-year-old Thornton’s character went in.
“Bunch of pissed off millionaires bitching about how much they hate millionaires, [President Donald] Trump, and men, and you, and me, and everybody else they got a bee up their ass about,” he said.

The neo-Western drama series is created by Sheridan and Wallace and written by the 55-year-old Yellowstone creator. It is currently in its second season with episodes airing through January 18, 2026.
Earlier this month, it was renewed for a third season at Paramount+.
The View, which has been airing since August 1997, is known for its hot takes on celebrities and politicians. The 79-year-old president and his staff at the White House are often discussed on the daily talk show.

On Monday, December 15, Goldberg slammed Trump for his insensitive remarks about the murder of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner.
In a Truth Social post, Trump said that Reiner, 78, died “due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.”
According to Decider, Goldberg said, “Have you no shame? No shame at all? Can you get any lower? I don’t think so.”
