Barack and Michelle Obama had plans with Rob and Michele Reiner on night of murders
Just when you think he can't go any lower, he somehow finds a way to do that. His description of what happened, of course, is not at all what happened. Not to mention blaming his death on the fact that he is an outspoken liberal, insulting someone who's just been murdered, who leaves children behind without having any idea of what actually happened. It's so hateful and vile. When I first saw it, I thought it was fake. My wife showed it to me this morning. I was like, "Well, even for him, that seemed like too much." But nothing is ever too much for him. >> During his Jimmy Kimmel Live monologue, Jimmy Kimmel slammed President Trump's comments about Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle's brutal murder as hateful and vile. >> He was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned. I think he hurt himself in career-wise. He became like a deranged person. Trump derangement syndrome. So, I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all in any way, shape, or form. Trump even doubled down on his initial remarks later that same day. Later in the show, Kimmel asked his guest, Michelle Obama, how she was coping with the news of her friend's murders. >> We've known them for many, many years, and we were supposed to be seeing them that night um last night um and we got the news. And let me just say this, unlike some people, uh Rob and Michelle Reiner are some of the most decent, courageous people you ever want to know. Um they are not they are not deranged or crazed. What they what they have always been are passionate people. She appeared to allude to the remarks made by President Trump, who called Rob Reiner deranged and tortured and struggling following the filmmaker's death. Former President Barack Obama released a statement on X praising the Reiner's legacy. Michelle and I are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and his beloved wife, Michelle. Rob's achievements in film and television gave us some of our most cherished stories on screen. Reiner, who was 78, was a beloved Hollywood icon known for his hit films. He was found fatally stabbed alongside his 68-year-old wife, Michelle, at their Brentwood mansion on Sunday afternoon. The couple's son, Nick Reiner, has been taken into custody and charged with the murders.
The Obamas were supposed to meet with director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, the night they were killed, allegedly by their son Nick Reiner, in their home in Los Angeles.
“We were supposed to be seeing them that night — last night — and we got the news,” Michelle Obama said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Monday night, when host Jimmy Kimmel asked how she was coping with the news of her friends’ murders.
The former first lady said she and her husband were devastated when they learned that the legendary filmmaker and his wife, with whom they had been friends for “many, many years,” had been killed.
