Police say Nick didn't drive. They speculate he may have ridden public transit. >> Office will be filing charges against Nick Reiner. These charges will be two counts of firstdegree murder. >> At today's press conference, official charges were announced against Nick by LA District Attorney Nathan Hawkman, who also confirms the weapon used was a knife. >> These charges carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility parole or the death penalty. The night before Rob and Michelle were murdered, Nick, who had been living on and off in his parents' guest house, joined them at a holiday party at Conan O'Brien's home in nearby Pacific Palisades. Sources tell NBC News Nick was disruptive, interrupting conversations, including one with actor Bill her, resulting in a loud argument with his parents. >> I was a real like nutcase. I was crazy. Eyewitnesses telling TMZ Nick appeared tweaked out, but presumably it was before his parents' death because his appearance showed no signs of a physical struggle. Sometime after that, Nick would have had to travel [music] back to his parents' home to commit the murders as alleged because TMZ reports that later [music] Sunday morning, Hotel Housekeeping found Nick's shower full of blood and blood [music] on the bed. Rob and Michelle's bodies were found stabbed to death just after 300 p.m. Sunday by Nick's [music] younger sister, Romy. After calling for help, Romy reportedly called close family friends Billy Crystal and his wife Janice. [music] Both came to the house and were seen walking outside, wiping tears that same night.

At about 4 a.m. the following morning, Nick reportedly made his way to a Santa Monica hotel and checked in, eyewitnesses claiming to TMZ that Nick appeared “tweaked out” but with no signs of a physical struggle. Sometime after that, Nick would have had to travel back to his parents’ home to commit the murders as alleged, because TMZ reports that later that morning, hotel housekeeping allegedly found Nick’s shower “full of blood” and blood on the bed.
