Howard Stern offered an update on his longtime cohost Robin Quivers’ ongoing battle with cancer.
On the Tuesday, December 16, episode of his radio show, Stern revealed that he renewed his contract with SiriusXM for another three years. The new deal includes a more flexible schedule, which he put into place so that Quivers could have an easier time with her cancer battle.
“Let’s be honest, Robin, if I may speak for you, you needed a more flexible schedule,” Stern said, via The Sun.

“Robin’s also busy trying to save her own life with a battle of cancer and it does require a tremendous amount of her time,” he explained. “Like, when she’s not on the air, she’s busy literally fighting cancer.”
Stern, who noted he would not have taken the new deal if Quivers wasn’t up for it, then got emotional talking about his colleague. He explained to listeners that he knows her to be a traveler and a social person who loves getting out in the world. However, because she’s battling cancer, she has to stay in, rest and take care of her body.
“It breaks my fing heart,” he said, per the outlet.
“God forbid, anything gets into her body that could be a foreign agent,” he added. “So she has really lived a lifestyle of perfection, which is now, she’s healthy as f**k, but she’s still got to fight this g**n thing, right?”

The duo began working together in 1981 and she stuck with him from his move from traditional radio to SiriusXM in 2004. Quivers previously announced she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in 2012. She underwent a surgery and 15 months of treatment. According to People, she was cancer-free for three years but announced in 2016 that her cancer had returned.
“That’s a very hard thing to do, to describe my health these days,” she told the outlet in 2023. “When you’re in and out of treatment, you’re always recovering and trying to get back to where you were.”
“I feel fine. It’s been 11 years of dealing with this — and I’m still here,” Quivers said. “I’m interested in everybody having a fuller life, more options and knowing what’s possible.”
