Greg Biffle’s family is speaking out in the wake of the NASCAR driver and his family’s death. [music] The Biffl family and other victim’s families on board the Cessna 550 that crashed December 18th write in a joint statement, [music] “We are devastated by the loss of our loved ones. This tragedy has left all of our families heartbroken beyond words. Greg and Christina were devoted parents and active philanthropists whose lives were centered around their young son, Ryder, and Greg’s daughter, Emma. Emma was a wonderful human being with a kind soul who was loved by many people. Ryder was an active, curious, and infinitely joyful child. The statement continues, “Each of them meant everything to us, and their absence leaves an immeasurable void in our lives. At this moment, our focus is on honoring their lives and supporting one another. Authorities are investigating what exactly happened to the aircraft that made it crash December 18th. But local weather reports indicate the weather around the airport at the time of the incident was adverse with heavy rains. Greg, also known as the Biff, began his NASCAR career in 1995, winning 19 Cup Series races from 2003 to 2016. He was one of three drivers to ever win a racing championship in both the Bush Series and the Craftsman Truck Series. Greg Biffle was 55.
Renowned NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina Gusso and two children—Ryder, 5, and Emma, 14—died on Dec. 18 when a private plane they were traveling in crashed in Statesville, North Carolina. The Biffle, Grossu, Dutton and Lunders families released a statement that said in part, “We are devastated by the loss of our loved ones. This tragedy has left all of our families heartbroken beyond words.” The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), who confirmed the crash to NBC affiliate WCNC, is still investigating the exact cause.
