How Savannah Changed ‘Survivor 50’ Strategy After Tension With Kristina | E! News
I couldn’t even focus on anything else other than like I need to win this game. Well, I’ll say the first thing I’m doing. My partner and I are going on vacation. We’re going to go to Thailand. And it’s just to celebrate this insane, incredible year. Survivor has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. But it’s also been one of the harder things, too, um to to [music] kind of to do, especially two seasons back to back. So, we’re going to have a little RNR and eat all the good food and sleep on some actual mattresses and not the dirt floor. I thought honestly it was a great question from her. I have a lot of respect for her for coming at me in that bold way because you saw me. I was a very bold player. So, if someone can come at me like that, I respect it so much. I will say, you know, survivors typically broken up into a few different categories. You know, you have the social game, the strate strategy game, and the physical game. And I really felt like my social game may have been lacking at points, but I felt like I had had a good enough social game to secure enough votes at the end. And in that same vein, I feel like my physical game spoke for itself and I had decent strategy at times during the game, too. I really felt like the people who, you know, wanted to see me win wouldn’t be put off by the fact that I couldn’t um remember a family member’s name because ultimately I did remember other things about their their lives, just not a name. I’m not going to lie, Christina’s question like scarred me. I was so nervous going into 50 that I was going to have this terrible social game. And so the number one thing on my mind as I set foot on that beach for 50 was I got to remember everybody’s family’s name. So, I asked multiple times about people’s wives, husbands, children. I tried to use their names in a sentence so I could get it ingrained in my brain. Um, but I was very socially conscious for 50.
Newly-crowned ‘Survivor’ winner Savannah Louie isn’t mad at Kristina Mills for calling out her social game during the final tribal council, when she failed to name family members of their fellow season 49 players to prove that she had forged a genuine relationship with them during the competition. “Honestly, it was a great question from her,” Savannah told E! News in an exclusive interview following her victory. “I have a lot of respect for her for coming at me in that bold way, because I was a very bold player.” Still, Savannah said Kristina’s comment “scarred” her and she quickly adjusted her strategy to a “socially conscious” one for ‘Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans,’ which was filmed immediately after her win. “The No. 1 thing on my mind as I set foot on that beach for 50 was, ‘I gotta remember everybody’s family’s names,'” Savannah explained. “So, I asked multiple times about people’s lives, husbands, children. I tried to use their names in a sentence so I could get it ingrained in my brain.” ‘Survivor 50’ premieres Feb. 26, 2026, on CBS. Best winner in years!
My bets were on Rizzo but Savannah won her place at final 3 with her physical game and she got so much better in her social game. Congratulations Savannah.
