It’s wedding bells in Washington DC and with more is our senior reporter Mara Seagler. Who’s engaged? >> So Don Jr. and Betatina Anderson, the Palm Beach socialite, got engaged uh last weekend. >> And did they do it at the White House or somewhere else? >> So we got the big exclusive on the proposal and it happened at Camp David, which is like the very very famed presidential retreat that’s seen a lot of very historical diplomatic meetings. >> Oh yeah. This is where peace treaties are signed and it’s it’s the uh the president’s kind of home away from home in Maryland. >> Yes. >> So, and actually I remember there was a VEP episode that’s set there. >> Yes. >> Yeah. It’s great. It’s not actually that romantic looking but it’s it’s you know beautiful woodsy. >> Well, so they went out Friday I’m told for her birthday and they celebrated that night and then the next day on Saturday he popped the question. But it’s something that you know those who know him were not surprised by. People are telling me it was a while coming. It was definitely planned for some time. So, people are excited but not surprised. >> And Page Six actually scooped the president on this. Is that right? >> We did. Um we I mean I heard it, my coworker heard it uh got it up really fast and then the um Instagram videos started coming in because there was a White House party going on and um Donald Trump got up there and he was very excited to announce the news. He said, “Young love and then Don came up and said how happy he was that she said yes.” And the couple got all the congratulations for the night. But I think people at Mara Lago and in Palm Beach were kind of like chattering before probably maybe amongst their friends. So we got a little bit of an edge on it. >> Yeah. I saw that photo of Don Jr. and Patina uh with Dr. Oz and his wife. >> Okay. >> Yeah. She was flashing a ring in the photo. >> Nice. I mean they start they’ve been dating now for a year. Um last year around this time we were breaking the news. They had been photographed out. It was also her birthday. That was the first time that they were photographed together. At the time, he was still engaged to Kimberly Gilfoil, the former Fox News host, Republican surrogate. Um, and then they split up and from there on, I mean, by January, we got the exclusive that they were living together. So, it’s been like, you know, here she is now she’s in Mara Lago. She Mara Lago, she was at the inauguration in January. >> Yeah. It’s it’s it’s all happening pretty fast. >> Yeah, it’s moving very quickly for this couple. It’s going to be So he was married once to Vanessa Trump who everybody who he has kids with and everybody knows now is dating Tiger Woods. [laughter] >> Yeah. >> And then the engagements at Kimberly and now he’s Yeah. >> And let’s talk about the engagement to Kimberly and how that kind of shook out because as soon as the Betatina news broke, something came down the pike for Kimberly. It seemed like the timing was interesting. >> The ambassadorship to Greece, which she is now confirmed and serving and she’s in Greece. Yeah, we’ve been talking about this all year. We’re like, when is Kim going to Greece? >> She finally went. You know, you would think I think it would be a natural thing like to be pissed off about this, but I spoke to some sources and they said, you know what, like she’s she’s not bothered. She’s doing her thing. >> I love an unbothered ex. >> Yes. >> You know what? A rare a rarity these days. >> That’s great. That’s great. So, a little bit of a consolation prize, maybe. And and you know, there’s no bad blood there. Did Don Jr.’s siblings have anything to say about the engagement? >> Yeah, so I talked to Ivanka. So Ivanka said, “We’re also excited for Don and Betina as they start this new chapter together.” And then we also talked to Eric who works very closely with his brother at the Trump org. And you know, they’re very tight. He told us, “Incredibly happy for both of them. Don and I have always been inseparable and I have a wonderful relationship and friendship with Betina. They are fantastic together.” So, they got the announcement by the president and the family is really on board with this. >> It’s all good vibes. It’s funny that Eric says he and Don are inseparable. I always think of that SNL sketch where the two of them are kind of finishing each other’s sentences. Obviously, they’re not like that in real life, but you know, it’s hard not to hard not to separate that image from my brain. >> Exactly. Yeah. >> Um well, maybe we’ll have a wedding at the White House in 2026. >> Yeah. We’ll get to see who gets to play Betina on SNL. And also, we have a whole new wing at the White House that might serve as a ballroom for the wedding. >> I mean, a White House wedding. I mean, listen, engaged at Camp David announced at the White House. I think that this is something that the Trump family would very much be into a um White House wedding. >> All right. Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson are engaged after a year of dating. The oldest son of President Donald Trump struck up a romance with the Palm Beach socialite last year, just as his relationship with former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle was coming to an end. Now sources says that Don Jr. proposed to Anderson, and she accepted. We were told she’s been seen with a chunky diamond ring on her finger. When we reached out for comment, a spokesperson for the couple confirmed the news. Sources tell Page Six the couple jetted to the presidential retreat to celebrate Anderson’s 39th birthday on Friday, and Trump Jr. dropped to one knee.
