A Marvel movie actor has addressed rumors that he had an affair with former First Lady Michelle Obama, the Independent reported.
In a podcast appearance, “Eternals” star Kumail Nanjiani said, “I was so excited! My friend, our mutual friend, pulled [wife] Emily aside and was like, ‘Hey, so I heard that Kumail and Michelle Obama are like doing it.’ And she was like, she wasn’t even upset, but multiple people brought it up to me.”
But Nanjiani definitively told “So True” podcast host Caleb Hearon that he has never been involved with the wife of former two-term President Barack Obama.
“I have never met Michelle Obama,” said “The Big Sick” star.
Hearon on the podcast brought up the unfounded rumors that Barack Obama, who served in the White House from 2009 to 2017, had romanced “Friends” superstar Jennifer Aniston.
“There’s been this persistent rumor that Barack is stepping out with Jen Aniston,” Hearon said, while at the same time acknowledging that he didn’t know what to make of those rumors when Nanjiani asked if he believed them.
“But what I’m saying is, my friend Kumail, you’re up there with Jen Aniston in terms of affair rumors,” Hearon said.
Giving his opinion on the supposed affair partners, Nanjiani joked that the Obamas were, in both cases, “slumming it.”
“No shade to Jen,” the “Only Murders in the Building” performer quickly put in.
Aniston herself denied the Obama affair rumors on Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show, saying she was “not mad at all” but maintaining that the rumors were “absolutely untrue.”
Michelle Obama has also said that rumors of her husband’s infidelity were false and that she had never considered leaving him.
