Billie Lourd Says Carrie Fisher “Lives on Through Joy” After Death | E! News

Billie Lourd paid tribute to her mother, Carrie Fisher, on the ninth anniversary of her death. On Dec. 27, Billie shared a carousel of photos to her Instagram, including a picture of her father, Bryan Lourd, posing alongside her kids, Kingston, 5, and Jackson, 3, whom she shares with husband Austen Rydell. In the caption, Billie explained, “My grief takes on many shapes – today, right now in this moment, that shape is this joy I get to experience watching my kids with my dad.” Although her grief has taken different shapes, Billie shared that “grief is never just one thing but right now I am relishing in this bittersweet grieful joy. As my mom wisely said, “Nothing is ever really over. Just over there.’” Carrie died on Dec. 27, 2016 at age 60, just a day before her mother, Debbie Reynolds, died at age 84.
