Speculation has mounted about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex being stripped of their titles by the future monarch after Andrew Mountbatten Windsor received similar treatment.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be handed a shock royal reprieve by Prince William when he becomes King, it has been claimed. Differing reports have suggested that the future monarch would strip his younger brother and his wife of their titles when he ascends to the throne.
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has already been turfed out of the Royal Family due to his links with Jeffrey Epstein, and will now be out of the public eye forever. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit royal life in 2020 as they moved to America amid family rows and alleged media intrusion.
Despite leaving the Firm, the couple were allowed to keep their titles, as well as bestow them on their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. But they have faced their own troubles while living in California, including Netflix and podcast flops and TV appearances going awry.
Speculation has mounted that following Andrew and Sarah Ferguson being stripped of their titles, with some royal experts claiming they are now in a “vulnerable position.” But one believes that when Prince William becomes King he will have more pressing issues to deal with, including a reshuffle.

Commentator Afua Hagan also claimed that the Prince of Wales isn’t “petty.” She said: “I don’t think he’s got time to do that, and, also, he doesn’t want that to be the focus of his reign when it comes. ‘Oh, the first thing I’m going to do is take away my brother’s titles,’ for what?
“What would be the point? It’s really silly to be focusing on [whether] that’s the thing he might do when he comes to reign.” She added: “There are so many other things that the Royal Family need to do to modernise, taking away people’s titles for living their own lives, it will seem silly and petty, so I just don’t think that he will.”

Previously, royal author Tom Bower has speculated that Harry and Meghan are on “borrowed time” with royal expert Tom Sykes echoing his thoughts. He told the Royal Beast that William will be quick to issue “letters patent” to remove princely titles from non-working royals – such as the Sussexes.
Harry and Meghan currently reside in California with their two children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four. They have lived there since 2020, with their daughter born in California in 2021.

Recently, they’ve had to deal with another crisis as two senior members of staff stepped down in a matter of days. Their chief communications officer Meredith Maines stepped down after spending a year in the role, and is believed to be the 11th publicist in five years to leave.
And James Holt, the head of the company Archewell Philanthropies is also quitting, after almost a decade in the role. He had been with them after they decided to call time on their lives as senior working royals in 2020. He worked closely with the Duke and Duchess on their charitable endeavours.
