Gogglebox viewers have rallied around the Siddiqui family following a devastating double loss they endured in 2025.
The cherished household became part of the Channel 4 programme from its inaugural series in 2013, featuring Baasit alongside his siblings Umar and Raza, plus their dad Sid. Their mother Nasreen, however, doesn’t feature on the programme.
It’s safe to say that the Siddiqui clan – who live in Derby – quickly won over audiences and became household favourites with the show’s fans.
Throughout the years, the family has left viewers in hysterics with their witty remarks and amusing commentary on the latest television programmes.

Beyond the show, Baasit shares his life with spouse Melissa, and together they’re raising two youngsters, Amelia and Theodore. Additionally, Mel regularly keeps their Instagram audience informed about their everyday experiences, reports the Mirror.
This week, she had supporters offering comfort after posting a touching message online, looking back over the previous year.
Using both her personal social media profile and the family’s shared account, Mel shared photographs from recent months, featuring their cherished felines who tragically passed away.

The family initially shared the heartbreaking update back in February via Instagram, disclosing that their beloved cat Rufus had died after more than 15 years.
“Goodnight our beautiful boy Rufus. 15 and a half years wasn’t long enough, you were and always will be a big part of our lives,” they penned alongside touching photographs of their cherished pet.
Gogglebox usually airs every Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
