The Rose Parade is dealing with heavy showers this year, yet that didn’t stop Bishop Briggs from delivering a memorable opening act. Whether the set was memorably good or bad quickly became the discussion on social media.

To get the festivities going, Briggs emerged from a golden globe and put her spin on Queen’s We Will Rock You. The Grammy-nominated singer and her backup dancers brought energy despite the rain and tried to get the crowd to sing along, but to no avail. The Pasadena crowd, most of which wore ponchos, did not seem particularly engaged.

Briggs would then perform three of her own songs — CHAMPION, River and HIGHER — and looked more comfortable. Still, the 33-year-old encouraged the crowd to sing along to a portion of River, her biggest hit, and it didn’t connect. Take a look at the performance yourself:
