It’s been a turbulent few years for the Royal Family, with bitter fall outs, public scandals, and brave cancer battles, and now the current state of Princess Kate’s relationship with her brother-in-law Prince Harry has been revealed.
Putting a difficult few years behind them, the Prince and Princess of Wales made a fresh start in November by moving into their “forever home” of Forest Lodge, the £16 million mansion located in the sprawling grounds of Great Windsor Park.
Their new home is right next door to the former home of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who vacated Frogmore Cottage nearly six years ago. It is also where Royal Lodge is located – former home to Willam’s uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
With tensions still high between Prince William and Harry, who are still in no contact, Kate has maintained her focus solely on raising her family, a friend has revealed.

Harry may have started to ease the tensions with his father King Charles, but when it comes to the Princess of Wales, relations still appear frosty. A source close to William and Kate has now revealed how the difficult relationship has made her focus on her children.
The told The Times: “After repeatedly taking aim at his brother and sister-in-law, it’s hardly surprising that William and Kate would rather focus on raising their own family.
“There was a sense of weary inevitability in William’s camp when Harry decided to announce a trip to Canada for ‘remembrancetide’ at the start of his brother’s official visit to Brazil. If Kate has learnt anything from her cancer ordeal and the teachings of Robert Waldinger, however, she’ll know that life’s far too short to get hung up on Harry.”
There are no signs of a reconciliation between Harry and his brother or sister-in-law – and royal expert Duncan Larcombe believes their lack of public acknowledgement of the Duke’s 41tst birthday in September was a sure sign they’re still smarting from his past wrongdoings. “Kate’s silence spoke a thousand words,” Duncan exclusively told OK!. “They didn’t post anything on his birthday, which the royals normally would do. So Kate’s message was loud and clear: the ball’s not in our court, Harry – it’s in yours.”
Duncan said that due to strict royal protocol, the couple can only make their feelings known with subtle signals. In this case, it seems their silence did the talking. “Neither Kate, nor William, can speak out publicly about Harry and Meghan. They have kept silent throughout all of this and rolled with all the punches, so they’re forced into subtle, secret messaging – which is what this seems to be. They’re not prepared to call Harry’s bluff by sending him joyful birthday wishes, so they remain silent and avoid him at all costs.”
Kate has made sure Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have been steadily included in official events, as she prepares them for their own future on the world stage. Royal expert and author Katie Nicholl told OK!: “I think for Kate and William, the greatest challenge is going to be navigating their role as hands-on parents, and making sure they set the tone for the future of the monarchy.
“That’s going to be very much part of the bigger picture when they are king and queen. They’ll be thinking ahead for future generations, so [the monarchy] doesn’t end with King William V, but continues with King George.”
