With the New Year now underway, people around the globe are getting to work on their long list of resolutions. Whether it be a time dedicated to fitness, cooking at home more, or focusing on spending more time between the pages of a good book, everyone has something they’re hoping to change over the next 365 days. Proving that even villains can put a betterment plan into motion, the good folks behind Scream 7 dropped a fresh teaser that points to the all-out carnage that audiences can expect to see when the movie slashes onto screens on February 27.

With a knife in hand, Ghostface hangs up a list of New Year’s resolutions for his prime target — Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott — in the latest look at the Kevin Williamson-helmed feature. On the lineup of tasks for the famed final girl to complete over the next several months are items such as “Call old friends more — pay them a visit” and “Do more cardio — build upper body strength,” with both pointing towards the plot that will unfold during the seventh installment. Underscoring the teaser are the very familiar sounds of longtime franchise composer Marco Beltrami, who returns to the fold after 15 years away.

Ghostface’s clever messages aren’t just a fun way to get fans into the spirit of the Scream 7 countdown, but they also paint a clearer picture of one of the film’s biggest mysteries. We’ve long known that previously killed-off characters played by Matthew Lillard, David Arquette, and Scott Foley will all partake in the action, but it’s not been abundantly obvious as to how they’ll fit into the script. With the killer’s message about “old friends,” it sounds like we’ll be getting some face time with plenty of ghosts from Sidney’s past, whether that be through AI or some other life-imitating-art type of twist.

Who Else Stars in ‘Scream 7’?

Along with the dead man’s trio and Campbell reprising their roles in Scream 7, other fan-favorites swinging by for the next chapter also include Courteney Cox, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding. Of course, just like any other Scream movie, there will be plenty of newcomers to get that body count up, with Isabel May, Joel McHale, Mckenna Grace, Ethan Embry, Mark Consuelos, Asa Germann, Anna Camp, Tim Simons, Michelle Randolph, Celeste O’Connor, Jimmy Tatro, and Sam Rechner also dotting the call sheet.

Check out Ghostface’s New Year’s resolution suggestions in the teaser above and see Scream 7 in cinemas on February 27.
