But as they embrace the end of the year, fans are wondering what will come for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2026. In the days after Christmas the pair’s 11th publicist, Meredith Maines, resigned after the couple’s photo drama with the Kardashians. News of Maines’ departure as the chief communications officer of Archewell Philanthropies was announced on Dec. 26. As multiple of their staffers prepares to leave — their entire brand is under threat, multiple sources tell Page Six. “They’ve essentially shuttered Archewell,” a source tells us as news broke on Dec. 29 that James Holt is stepping down as chief of their charity, Archewell. “After five incredible years in Los Angeles, it’s time for my family to return to London,” the businessman told People in a statement. Despite the unexpected shake ups, Meghan and Harry seem to be moving ahead with many other projects, including expanding her brand As Ever, and producing a new wedding-centered movie for Netflix despite their past flops with the streaming giant. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will produce an adaptation of “The Wedding Date,” the first in a six-book series from New York Times bestselling author Jasmine Guillory, according to Deadline.
