The upcoming Harry Potter reboot series has all eyes on it. Avid fans are looking forward to seeing the Wizarding World realized to its fullest, in a longer format. It also bears the burden of introducing and entertaining an entirely new audience for the next decade and becoming Netflix’s crown jewel in the process. The series is currently filming, and fans have seen enough to keep the hype going with set images and comments from the cast members. One such returning cast member, Warwick Davis, recently revealed that the series is a “faithful adaptation” of J.K. Rowling’s original work.
Davis played multiple characters during the original franchise’s run, including the lovable Charms Professor Flitwick and greedy Goblin Griphook. He is among a few actors who are making the transition from film to TV series. “I’m working on it at the moment, but I can’t really tell you anything other than we’re retelling those wonderful stories but with more depth and detail than has been seen before. They’re very faithful adaptations of the book,” he revealed to Radio Times.
The Willow actor, who returns as Flitwick, admits with a familiar story, “There are similar moments that we’re experiencing as actors on the set. But it’s weird being back in the same studios again, doing it all again, because Leavesden is where we shot the films.” The faithfulness of the story doesn’t mean repetition of the same beats, as behind-the-scenes images have shown us that the makers are adding enough new characters and events to keep it fresh for all kinds of viewers.
