London actor Callum Turner is reportedly the front-runner to become the next James Bond, with sources claiming he has been “blabbing all over town” about landing the iconic role. The 35-year-old, who is engaged to pop star Dua Lipa, is currently the bookies’ favourite to succeed Daniel Craig. Fans are also speculating that if Turner is cast, Dua Lipa might have the chance to contribute to the film’s theme song.
A source close to the Fantastic Beasts actor, said: “He’s been blabbing all over town. Callum is the new Bond, it’s been confirmed. Everyone in his circle is talking about it. It’s the worst-kept secret going.”
If Turner does take up the role of 007, producers at Amazon MGM Studios could secure a two-for-one deal by having his 30-year-old fiancée write the opening and closing song for the film.
The pop star, who previously wrote Swan Song for the 2019 sci-fi movie Alita: Battle Angel, is reportedly eager to follow in the footsteps of Adele, Billie Eilish and Sam Smith by joining the Bond song legacy.

The source added: “Dua is over the moon for Callum. She’s been saying she’d love to record the Bond theme. If it is Callum then he’d be a popular pick. He has the looks and sophistication for Bond and he has proved his acting chops.”
Raised on a council estate in London by a single mum, Turner began his career as a model for Next before transitioning into acting, with his break through role as Theseus Scamander in the Harry Potter spin-off prequel movie Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
He later went on to star in George Clooney’s 2023 film The Boys In The Boat, and as Major John ‘Bucky’ Egan in Apple TV’s Masters of the Air series, which was produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. His latest role was in the 2025 film Eternity, staring Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller.
Turner and Lipa, who started dating in January 2024 and got engaged last summer, have yet to announce their wedding date. Rumours that Turner could be taking on the role of Bond were fuelled when the couple visited Goldeneye in Jamaica, the former estate of Bond author Ian Fleming.
The next 007 film, will mark the 26th film in the Bond franchise and the first since Amazon MGM Studios bought the creative control of the franchise from Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson.
Although the next instalment is reportedly set to begin filming this year, the release date of the movie has yet to be announced. This has not stopped fans speculating who will be taking on the iconic role as the secret agent.
As well as Turner, several other names have also been making headlines for the role including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, James Norton and Henry Cavill.
