The Music City Film Critics’ Association (MCFCA) has announced its nominations for the best in film for 2025. The association is comprised of 40 professional film critics working in or near Nashville, Tennessee.

    Sinners secured a MCFCA record 17 nominations in categories including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Young Actor, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Music Film, Best Screenplay, Best Original Song, Best Score, Best Sound, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Editing, Best Horror Film, and Best Stunt Work.

    One Battle After Another follows closely with 13 nominations, while Marty Supreme earned nine. Rounding things out are Frankenstein with seven nominations and Hamnet with six; all four films are also up for Best Picture.

    “In a year with so many great films it is wonderful to see this group acknowledge that quality with a wide spectrum of films featured,” said Micheal Compton, Vice President of the MCFCA. “There truly was something for everyone in 2025.”
