Retro Reels, a nostalgic journey through the props, stories, and creativity that shaped a generation, is bringing its extraordinary collection to the Riverside Museum this month.

Movie fans and nostalgia lovers across Glasgow are in for a treat this month when Retro Reels rolls into town with its extraordinary collection of replica props from some of the world’s biggest movies.

The epic exhibition, which is free to attend, transports people back to “the unforgettable world of 1980s cinema”, with a selection of epic mementoes from films like Star Wars, Doctor Who, E.T., and Back to the Future.

It’s coming to the Riverside Museum from this weekend, Saturday, January 10, and will run until Sunday, March 29 2026.

The team at the museum posted: “Step back in time and immerse yourself in the unforgettable world of 1980s cinema, on a nostalgic journey through the props, stories, and creativity that shaped a generation.

“Featuring an extraordinary collection of replica props from some of the most iconic films of the decade. Highlights include George Lucas’ galactic movie saga, showcasing legendary intergalactic props; the Time-Traveling Doctor, complete with fan favourites such K9 and Daleks, and a replica of the show-stopping DeLorean from Back to the Future.

They added that anyone visiting in their best 80s movie costume will enjoy 10 per cent off selected items from the Riverside Museum shop.
