American Psycho became popular I think because America has become so overrun with psychopaths & sociopaths. Probably due to all the lead in the water. Creating guys like Trump & those who voted for him. People who idolize the self-centred, "alpha-male" strongman types that is perfectly embodied in Patrick Bateman. They see enough of themselves in him that the fact the plot doesn't actually makes sense is irrelevant.

I agree that this movie is bad but I think it could have been great on it’s own if it had a better writing, because the idea of a serial killer that wants to hunt down other serial killers is actually interesting, in a way this movie walked so “Dexter” could run, but they barely explore that idea.
They could have kept the original title and still had that connection so it wouldn’t feel like they were trying to leech off the success of the original movie (at least not that much), I like the “big bad guy being defeated by a little girl” trope.
I think the problem is mostly that they made Mila’s character sort of a murderous Mary-Sue, she succeeds at everything she tries to do and has no internal conflict (unlike Patrick Bateman), like in the beginning she implied that she only wanted to kill murderers, to “kill the few to save the many, sort of like a Robin Hood”, so it sounds like even though she’s a remorseless killer she still has sort of a moral code so she still feels like she’s better than the serial killers she wants to stop, but they ruin that by making her kill innocent people just to get what she wants, she doesn’t care

I absolutely love horror movies. But I thought "American Psycho" was horrible, confusing, and I just did not like it at all…
She didn't do all my children or party of 5. The other voice of Meg from family guy Lacey did . You might want to repost with that taken out.
