Is Lost in Paradise Lacey Chabert’s Best Hallmark Movie Ever? Full Review

Hallmark January movies are usually where joy goes to die, but Lost in Paradise (aka Love in Paradise) just changed the game. Hallmark stranded Lacey Chabert and Ian Harding on a tropical island in Fiji, and somehow, it resulted in the best banter I’ve heard in years!

In this review, we’re breaking down why this is Hallmark’s perfect apology for years of disappointing January releases (looking at you, Love on the Right Course). We discuss the undeniable chemistry between Lacey and Ian, the surprisingly smart character writing for Sofia, and the most ridiculous “survival” details that I just couldn’t stop laughing at.

From the “Hallmark-style” plane crash to the pristine island fashion, find out why this movie is the perfect escape—and why we need Ian Harding in every Hallmark movie from now on.

  1. I absolutely loved this movie!❤ It was definitely my favorite Lacey movie. The quick back and forth banter between the two of them just showed what great actors they both are. My only criticism was when they were running from the pirates, I kept yelling "where is the dog!"

  2. This was totally the best Hallmark movie this season. The chemistry was perfect and just right. Hallmark should do a series with them of an updated old classic Thin Man or something along those lines. Think it would be a hit.

  3. This movie is definitely a winner and thanks for reminding me of Elevator Girl My recent Lacey movie is She's Making A List because of the breaking of the fourth wall When that happens in a movie it gabs my attention.

  4. I loved Elevator Girl and that’s Lacey’s first Hallmark movie. I’d loved , loved Lost in Paradise that I DVR it cause I don’t have hallmark+ and my daughter wanted to watch it. I’m glad there wasn’t a particular Hallmark part the person didn’t hear the half truth. Thank you so much and I love your opinions and blessings.

  5. I love Lacey and I loved this movie. Is it her best? Hard to say, because she's made so many of my all-time favorites like All of My Heart, Christmas Waltz, Haul Out the Holly, Winter in Vail and She's Making a List

  6. I love love love Ian Harding! He’s the only reason I watched this. I do prefer snow over tropical any day, but he’s so damn charming and amazing! I enjoyed this movie far more than I thought I would! I agree with you that I want to see more of James Trevena. I’ve been calling him the Hallmark Hemsworth 😂. He would be great in a lead role! And believe it or not, my favorite Lacey Chabert movie is elevator girl, though honestly I love it more for Ryan Merriman ♥️

  7. I was definitely ready to get out of the snow into the gorgeous island and sunny sea. I’m happy also that there wasn’t the usual tension and blaming game going on. But it’s Hallmark, so I had the sneaky suspicion this was a private island of some sort, or at least with a fancy hotel on the other side of the island… but isn’t there always. I watch anything with Lacey in it.

  8. We were very disappointed. The actors were OK, but really: A White blouse and sequin skirt look no worse for wear after a plane crash? Clothes not damaged in the water? Laughable…not in an entertaining way. I wondered why Lacey would have accepted this approach.

  9. Can we mention how hilarious the side characters were. I couldn't stop laughin when they were out at sea in a storm on that little raft! Yes, bring the pilot back, he's too much hemsworth-ish fun not to!
