Some new rumors regarding Black Panther 3 have emerged online.

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther 3 is in development. The movie does not yet have a release date; however, director Ryan Coogler, who directed Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, has confirmed that it will be his next movie.

What is the Black Panther 3 rumor?

There have been many rumors swirling around the internet suggesting that Damson Idris, star of 2025’s F1 and the TV show Snowfall, is in line to be the next Black Panther. Additionally, it appears that Denzel Washington will star in the third Black Panther movie, though it’s not yet clear who he’ll be playing.

Scooper @ScoopsRus_ is now reporting that Idris will indeed be the lead star of Black Panther 3. While his role is being kept under wraps, he’s allegedly taking “over the mantle” of Black Panther.

The scooper further says that, in addition to Washington, Tenoch Huerta Mejía will return as Namor in the new Black Panther 3, while Vanessa Kirby “could” make a cameo as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman.

This is just a rumor at this time and should be taken with a heavy grain of salt, as @ScoopsRus_’s track record on breaking reliable scoops has been spotty in the past. There’s been no official confirmation from Marvel about Idris joining the MCU or any of the other scoops.

Many are expecting Black Panther 3 to be released at some point in 2028, which would make sense given that Avengers: Doomsday arrives at the end of this year and Avengers: Secret Wars then follows in 2027. Many Black Panther characters are starring in Avengers: Doomsday, including Letitia Wright’s Shuri/Black Panther, Tenoch Huerta Mejía’s Namor, and Winston Duke’s M’Baku. Wright has said she’ll be returning for Secret Wars, though who else manages to survive Doomsday remains to be seen.
