Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and some of the other early Star Wars characters will soon be roaming around the Galaxy’s Edge area at Disneyland that is dedicated to the franchise.

Characters from the original Star Wars movies released between 1977 and 1983 will join those from different eras starting on April 29, Disney confirmed Wednesday in a blog post.

Along with Luke, Vader, Han Solo and Princess Leia on site, the simulacrum of the movies’ Outer Rim outpost of Batuu will also feature the iconic original musical scores composed by John Williams.

The expanded timeline showcased at Galaxy’s Edge will include the Galactic Civil War and New Republic, as well as the Age of the Resistance and First Order.

“Each era will be brought to life with the same care and attention to detail that the land was originally designed with, masterfully weaving together stories from across time and space in one location,” the blog post said.

Galaxy’s Edge, whose features include a life-size replica of the Millennium Falcon, opened in 2019.

The move to leverage nearly half-century-old IP comes at an important moment for the Star Wars franchise and for Disney as a company. The Mandalorian and Grogu, a feature based on the popular Disney+ series, will be hit theaters on May 22. On a corporate level, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro is in the running to take on additional responsibilities, with the company expected to make a decision about CEO Bob Iger’s successor in the coming weeks.
