
Claudia Winkleman: Behind the Fringe looks at the TV presenter’s impact
Paramount-owned broadcaster 5 in the UK has commissioned a one-off documentary about TV presenter Claudia Winkleman, in addition to three docs about the British royal family.
Claudia Winkleman: Behind the Fringe (1×90’) will be produced by Middlechild and explores how the host of Strictly Come Dancing and The Traitors has reshaped some of the UK’s biggest entertainment formats. Middlechild’s founder and CEO David Sumnall exec produces with Emma Clarke.
The three royal docs are all produced by Fremantle’s Naked and Krempelwood, with Naked’s creative director Nicola Lloyd and Krempelwood founders Blair Krempel and Mark Wood exec producing.
Camilla: Of the People for the People (working title, 1×90’) charts Camilla Parker-Bowles’ journey to becoming Queen Consort, while Elizabeth & Philip: A Royal Fairytale (wt, 1×90’) examines the 73-year marriage of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Airing this Saturday, Fergie & the Fake Sheikh Scandal (1×60’) delves into the allegations made in an undercover film of journalist Mazher Mahmood posing as the notorious ‘Fake Sheikh.’ The film suggested the former Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, was allegedly offering access to the then Prince Andrew in exchange for £500,000 (US$672,720).
