I personally love the Cameo Tiara. Its so unique, not your standard boring Tiara.
And the history behind it is also cool.
But I want to know, for those who dont like the tiara, why?
The Cameo Tiara, which now belongs to the Swedish royal family, is believed to have been a gift from Napoleon (yep THAT Napoleon) to his first wife, Joséphine de Beauharnais, in 1809.
It was inherited by Josephine’s son, Eugene de Beauharnais, who then passed it to his daughter, Josephine of Leuchtenberg.
And she in turn brought the cameo Tiara with her to sweden, when she married Crown Prince of Sweden (Oscar) in 1823.
The french links are very fitting when you take into account that the House of Bernadotte is of french origin too.
Its founder Jean-Baptiste Jules Bernadotte having been one of Napoleon's marshals.
Cameo Tiara's description:
Notable for not having a single diamond.
The Tiara consists of seed pearls set in red gold, topped by the cameos.
The Cameos depicts scenes from Greco – Roman mythology.
