Hailee Steinfeld may now be a bona fide Buffalo Bills fan thanks to hubby Josh Allen, but a decade ago, her heart belonged to another team: the Denver Broncos.
During the 2016 Super Bowl, which saw the Broncos defeat the Carolina Panthers 24-10, the “Sinners” actress made her allegiance to Broncos Nation crystal clear.
Steinfeld shared a photo of herself at the big game sporting a bright orange Denver jacket and dabbing with her arms. She enthusiastically captioned the post on X (formerly Twitter): “HELL YEAH BRONCOS!!!!”
On Wednesday, that nearly 10-year-old tweet resurfaced at a particularly sensitive time. The Broncos are set to face the Bills this Saturday in one of the biggest matchups of the season, as Buffalo continues its high-stakes hunt for its first-ever Super Bowl title.
Football fans on both sides were quick to jump on the throwback photo.
“HAILEE DELETE THIS NOW!!!” wrote a worried fan. Other users echoed the same sentiment.
“Supports a better team now #billsmafia,” countered a second user.
“She rooting for her Broncos in her heart , but she repping Bills for her Hubby,” teased a Broncos fan. Another trolled: “Don’t worry we’ll win for you.”
Other comments read, “Ayeeee yooooo this is a crazy find!!!“ and ”Well, this is awkward for Josh Allen.”
While it’s unclear how long Steinfeld’s loyalty to Denver lasted, she likely traded the orange swag for “Bills Blue” in 2023 when she began dating Allen.
The couple went Instagram official in July 2024 and got engaged four months later. In May 2025, the pair married in a gorgeous Ventura, California, wedding.
Last month, Steinfeld announced that she and Allen are expecting their first child in her Beau Society Substack newsletter, which included a video of Allen kissing Steinfeld’s stomach.
She later shared the news on Instagram with a simple red heart emoji, which Allen commented on with the message: “I love you.”
On Saturday, the quarterback and soon-to-be father will travel with his teammates to Empower Field at Mile High to face the Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
Whether Steinfeld will be in attendance is unclear. Wherever she’s watching from, we sure do hope she’s repping the right team colors.
