Sony may finally be ready to officially release the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

When a rough cut of the Brand New Day teaser trailer leaked near the end of December 2025, many Marvel fans expected Sony to upload an official version to their social media accounts, as has been the case in many instances in the past when trailers have leaked online ahead of the studios’ plans. However, that never happened, with scooper MyTimeToShineHello soon after sharing that Sony didn’t plan to release the trailer “until 2026.”

What is the Spider-Man 4 trailer release date update?

Now, with 2026 well afoot, it’s beginning to sound like Sony is ready to begin the marketing push for Brand New Day. Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus has the latest trailer release date update for the next Spider-Man movie, writing on X, “There’s been some movement from Sony. Hearing a trailer release may be imminent. No date yet, as far as I know. But the recent movements make me think it could be within a matter of days. Time will tell.”

Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the fourth Marvel Cinematic Universe-set Spider-Man movie. The highly-anticipated sequel picks up after the events of 2021’s No Way Home, which ended with the universe forgetting who Peter Parker was, allowing for the MCU to bring Holland’s Spider-Man closer to his comic book counterpart.

Destin Daniel Cretton replaced Jon Watts in the director’s chair for Brand New Day. Production on the superhero sequel began in August 2025 and wrapped the following December.

While Sony and Marvel Studios are keeping plot details under wraps, the movie is expected to be more grounded than the multiverse adventure fans witnessed in No Way Home. Confirmed villains for Brand New Day include Scorpion and Tombstone. Michael Mando is reprising his role as Mac Gargan/Scorpion from Spider-Man: Homecoming, while Marvin Jones III has been cast as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone.

Mark Ruffalo‘s Hulk and Jon Bernthal‘s Punisher will also be in the movie, with the latter rumored to be protecting Jean Grey from Damage Control. The rest of the cast includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Tramell Tillman.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU.
